In today’s post, I am going to compare two OnePlus devices. Those are the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 8 Pro.
Based on my experience OnePlus devices offer a clean and hassle-free Android experience for the user.
Usually, smartphone companies develop their flagship devices with high-end features. Also, these phones are higher in price. But I feel OnePlus has changed this pattern by offering high-end features at a reasonable price. This is my personal opinion and I would like to you know your objections in the comment section below.
Oneplus 7T was launched in 2019 September. It has a screen of 6.55 inches. The OnePlus 8 Pro (which was released in 2020 April) has a display of 6.78 inches. But both these screens have fluid AMOLED Technology.
Nowadays many smartphone manufacturing companies try to improve their refresh rate of the devices. This way they can improve the overall performance of the display while producing a good user experience (performance of the display). If you compare the refresh rates between these two devices the OnePlus 7T has a refresh rate of 90 Hz. On the other hand, the OnePlus 8 Pro has a 120 Hz refresh rate. If you can remember the details about Samsung Galaxy S 20 Ultra, it also has a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Hence I see this as a good move made by smartphone companies.
Both these OnePlus devices have Android 10 and Oxygen OS.
Personally, I feel that the hardware and software of OnePlus devices are a perfect combination for a better user experience.
Snapdragon 855 chipset is included in OnePlus 7T. In Oneplus 8T Pro, we can find Snapdragon 865 chipset. As a general user, I didn’t notice any significant performance difference between these two devices.
Now let’s have a look at the storage capacity and the Random Access Memory of these devices.
Both the 128 GB version and the 256 GB version of the OnePlus 7T come with 8 GB RAM. However, if you choose the 256 GB version of the OnePlus 8 Pro you can get a 12 GB RAM.
A significant improvement of the battery capacity can be noticed in OnePlus 8 Pro. (OnePlus 8 Pro battery capacity = 4510 mAh, OnePlus 7t battery capacity = 3800 mAh). I see this as a “must-do” task because of the improvement in the display, chipset, and refresh rate. I was able to use both these devices for about 2 days after full charging.
If you don’t have a budget to go for an OnePlus 8 Pro (but still want to get the experience of OnePlus), then the OnePlus 7T is a good alternative as it offers a good camera performance, operating level performance, display, back protection (with Gorilla Glass) and the premium look and feel. Also, it has a reading mode, night mode, and a video enhancer. The display refresh rate of the OnePlus 7T can be reduced to 60 Hertz if you feel that the battery is draining due to the default refresh rate which is 90 Hz.
When it comes to the gaming experience I noticed a slight improvement in OnePlus 8 Pro (this can be due to the improved refresh rate and display optimizations).
I have seen many mobile photographers are using manual mode in OnePlus devices to capture elegant and detailed photos. If you know what you are doing then the manual mode of these devices can produce high-quality photographs. The Video recording experience was also smooth. I was able to record 1080p videos with good quality using these two devices. The super slow-motion feature It’s another cool feature that I noticed. However, in the super slow motion, I was able to only record videos of 720p.
I think I have given you all the details to make a decision. If you don’t have any budget constraints, you can go for the OnePlus 8 Pro. Otherwise, still, the one plus 7T is a good option if you really want to have the OnePlus experience at a reasonable price.
